Needle injuries are needle cuts that can result in exposure of blood or body fluids; they run the considerable risk of blood-borne infections, such as HBV, HCV and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The goal of product development is to facilitate the automatic separation and disposal of syringes without further handling.
ANALYSIS AND DISPOSAL OF MEDICAL DEVICES
Pre-filled syringes that are used with any saline and vaccines are specified with a barcode or QR code. The barcode is read by the device as the syringe rotates in the main part of ANDY with integrated omnidirectional scanner.
The application of this barcode scanning method allows
waste disposal which can be expanded to collect information on other medical waste throughout the hospital.
ANDY is also used to collect data from medical devices automatically, time and labor costs can be greatly reduced.
